Analysis of results and final medical examination

The last session concludes with a final diagnosis. A new strength curve is compiled and compared with that compiled at the start of therapy. The doctor will discuss the results, in particular whether the strength of your back muscle strength is now normal and whether your spine can withstand normal everyday loads? In order to maintain the gains made during therapy, we recommend regular health-oriented strength training.

Results

Based on our own research and studies in the United States and Europe, 80% of patients with chronic back pain are free from pain after Medical Strengthening Therapy (MST). This figure is replicated in our facilities showing that MST is a highly effective and active way of treating patients, whose condition was previously regarded as difficult and resistant to treatment.

In a study in 1992, GRAVES et al. showed that patients with a restricted range of motion in the lumbar region who were given therapy for their lumbar extensors also achieved significant increases in the strength of areas not trained. This is of particular relevance when treating patients with painful symptoms as it means that training can be done in the pain-free range. The adaptive response goes beyond the range of motion actually trained and strength is increased and pain reduced in the painful range of motion as well.
