Diagnosis: stenosis of spinal canal caused by intervertebral discs, polyarthralgia and degeneration of disc L4-5. I underwent surgery (arthrodesis of C4 and C5 using carbon rings) to open the spinal canal. The pain became chronic.
This chronic pain extended from the cervical vertebrae over the back of the head and was accompanied by a constant feeling of nausea and sometimes vomiting. Sleeping was a torment as I was unable to lie on my back and I was unable to get a full night's sleep if I slept on my side.
Sudden movements, e.g. when driving made the symptoms worse and I was classed as 50% disabled because of my condition
I received targeted MST for the cervical spine twice a week for about 6 weeks. My back and in particular my neck muscles were carefully strengthened.
The exercises were strenuous and of course my symptoms meant that they were sometimes very painful. However, I quickly noticed initial signs of success. My condition improved, the pain abated and in particular I said goodbye to that permanent feeling of nausea.
I continue to do exercises to strengthen my neck muscles. I attend the Iso-Doc Institute for therapy and prevention in Bad Homburg twice a week and in my terms I am almost free of any symptoms. The feelings of nausea have disappeared and I can sleep on my back. Now that the symptoms have abated, I can do sport and I walk for several hours twice a week and so my general health has also improved.
